History

Edukacja Artystyczna Dzieci (Artistic Education for Children) was established in 2009/2010 school year, and since 2013 is listed in the directory of public and non-public schools by the Mayor of Kraków.

Since the beginning we actively engage in the cultural life of Kraków by taking part in dance contests. In 2012 our pupils came in the 3rd place in the 5th Artist Review “O smocze jajo” during “12th PGNiG Parada Smoków” organized by Groteska Theatre in Kraków. They were also awarded in Solo and Group Dance Forms Review SOLVAY 2012 and 25th Malopołski Music and Dance Forms Festival – TALENTS OF MAŁOPOLSKA 2012. Since 2013 we took part in preliminaries to the Dance World Cup and Małopolski Music and Dance Forms Festival – TALENTS OF MAŁOPOLSKA 2012.

At the end of the school year, we organize the Ballet Concert during which our pupils have the chance to present what they have learned during ballet classes. First concert, which took place in Groteska Theatre, enjoyed huge popularity among pupils’ parents, as well as guests from artistic communities of Kraków.

We continue the tradition of organizing the Concerts – this year almost 2,000 viewers saw the performance of almost 500 ballet dancers. The event was sponsored by “Znak” publishing house, Media Markt, “Ciu Ciu” confectionary and Bahlsen company. Eva Klimek from the Floral Concept Store was the author of the scenography, and Beata Malachowska’s “BEAUTY-ART” School was in charge of ballet dancers’ make-up.

In 2014 the event was awarded in the contest organized by CzasDzieci.pl, and was credited as the most developmental initiative for children in Kraków. Moreover, this year, thanks to parents’ votes, we have become Parents Prize laureate in “Music”.

We are proud of our pupils, who by taking part in our classes become a part of the cultural map of Kraków.

Mission

Our mission is to popularize ballet among the youngest as well as older boys and girls. We wish to combine our passion for dancing with children welfare by instilling love to this demanding, but beautiful art in them. Our work proves that ballet is not only a hard work. It can be fun too, and it may turn into lifelong love.

What the ballet is?

Every dancer has to start with ballet – no matter what dance techniques they choose. Classical ballet helps to develop coordination of the body, muscular endurance and flexibility, and helps to fix bad posture. While dancing, they learn partnership and team work, and by public performances they become more confident. Moreover, fun activities for younger groups help to develop imagination giving children a lot of fun.

What are the ballet’s benefits?

– fixes bad posture

– develops sense of rhythm

– develops musical sensibility

– teaches team work

– enhances self-assurance

– children get used to move fluidly

What impact does the classical music have on children?

Music stimulates children’s senses from early stage, and by that it develops their inborn talents. Classical music used during classes enhances memory, spatial imagination, reasoning, logic and develops children’s good manners.
